LegalPrivacy Policy
Last updated August 30, 2026
Innerance is a space for private reflection, so we've tried to write this plainly. In short: your reflections are yours, we don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to train AI models. The detail is below.
1. Who we are
Innerance ("Innerance", "we", "us") provides a web application for life assessment, reflection, and personal growth. This policy explains what personal data we handle when you use the service and the choices you have. It applies to Innerance's website and application.
The data controller is [Legal Entity Name], [registered address]. If you have questions, contact us at privacy@innerance.app.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details — your name and email address, and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
- Your content — the reflections you write, self-assessment ratings, goals and tasks, moods, tags, and the areas you choose to tend.
- Preferences — theme, notification settings, and whether AI features are enabled.
Information collected automatically
- Product analytics — a minimal log of in-app events (for example, that a reflection was created) used to understand usage and improve the product. This is tied to your account but is not sold or shared for advertising.
- Technical data — standard information your browser sends (such as IP address and device/browser type) and authentication cookies needed to keep you signed in.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the service — save your reflections, run assessments, and show your insights.
- To generate the optional emotional and thematic analysis of your reflections (see AI processing below).
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the product.
- To communicate with you about your account and, where you've opted in, product updates and reminders.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use the content of your reflections for advertising or profiling.
4. AI processing of your reflections
When AI features are enabled, the text of a reflection you choose to analyse (or that is auto-analysed on save, if you've turned that on) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, and processed by their Claude models to produce an emotional and thematic reading. We store the resulting reading (emotions, themes, sentiment, a short summary) alongside your reflection.
- Your reflections are not used to train AI models— neither ours nor our provider's.
- AI processing is optional. You can turn off all AI features at any time in Settings; existing readings remain until you delete them.
- AI-generated readings are for self-reflection only and can be imperfect. They are not medical, psychological, or diagnostic advice.
5. Who we share data with
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf under contract ("sub-processors"), and only as needed to run Innerance:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and hosting of your account and content.
- Anthropic — AI analysis of reflections, when AI features are enabled.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- A payment processor and an email provider will be added when billing and email are enabled; this policy will be updated accordingly.
We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Innerance and its users.
6. Data retention
We keep your content for as long as your account is active. When you delete a reflection it is removed, along with its stored AI reading. When you delete your account, your personal data and content are deleted (subject to short-lived backups and any records we must retain by law).
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and similar laws), you have rights to access, correct, export, delete, and object to or restrict certain processing of your personal data. Innerance is built to let you exercise the core rights yourself:
- Access & portability — export everything you've written as a JSON file from Settings.
- Deletion — delete individual reflections, or delete your whole account (which cascades to your content) from Settings.
- Withdraw consent — disable AI features or adjust notification preferences at any time.
To make any other request, or if you believe we've mishandled your data, contact privacy@innerance.app. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
Access to your data is restricted at the database level so that you can only read and write your own rows. Data is encrypted in transit, and privileged operations run only on our servers, never in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit what we collect in the first place.
9. International transfers & children
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, under appropriate safeguards. Innerance is not directed to children; you must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
